The short version
Remote Keeper doesn't collect data. There's no account, no sign-up, no analytics and no ads. Your phone and your computers talk to each other end to end encrypted, and we can't read what they say.
What Remote Keeper is
Remote Keeper turns Remote Control back on for Claude Code sessions in the Claude desktop app on your computers, from your phone. It has three parts: Remote Keeper for Mac, the Remote Keeper iPhone app, and the Remote Keeper web app at keeper.mannydlabs.com. A small relay run by MannyD Labs passes messages between them. Remote Keeper is not affiliated with Anthropic.
On your Mac
- Remote Keeper reads the Claude app's list of Claude Code sessions (titles, pinned, last activity, and each session's Remote Control setting) and the Claude app's log, on your Mac, to know which sessions are connected. It never changes them.
- To reconnect a session, it opens that session in the Claude app and types Claude's /remote-control command (or one short, fixed message). It never types anything you write on your phone, and it never runs other commands.
- Its settings (your chosen sessions and the pairing secret) stay in a file on your Mac.
On your iPhone
- Your linked computers, their names and labels, and their pairing secrets are saved in your keychain. If Sync with iCloud is on, Apple's iCloud Keychain syncs them to your other devices under your Apple Account; MannyD Labs can't see them. You can turn sync off, or delete everything (on the device and in iCloud), in Settings.
- The camera is used only to scan your computer's QR code, on the device. Nothing is recorded or sent.
- App Lock uses Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode through iOS. Remote Keeper never sees your face, fingerprint or passcode.
The relay
- Each computer's QR code holds a secret that only your devices know (it's in the part of the link that browsers and apps never send to a server). Every message is encrypted with keys made from it, so the relay only passes along scrambled data. It can't read your session names or computer names, and it can't send commands of its own.
- To deliver alerts, the relay keeps your device's push notification address (an Apple push token, or a web push address) for each computer you turn alerts on for. It's used only to deliver those alerts, isn't linked to who you are, and is removed when you turn alerts off, forget the computer, or delete the app's data. The alert text itself is encrypted; your phone decrypts it.
- Like any website, Cloudflare (which hosts the relay and the web app) handles the network traffic, including IP addresses, to deliver it. We don't keep logs of it.
